Embodied Practice
& Perceptual Research

Ana Biolchini’s artistic practice is informed by a long-term investigation into body perception, spatial organization and attentional processes. Drawing from studies in rehabilitation, postural organization and somatic practices, the artist developed an ongoing embodied methodology MIS [Movimento Integrativo do Ser], that informs both her studio process and performative actions.

Rather than functioning as a therapeutic system, this practice operates as a perceptual and relational framework through which body, movement, matter and space are continuously recalibrated. Attention, weight, balance, duration and gesture become structural elements in the construction of experience.

Through exercises involving posture, grounding, movement and sensory awareness, Biolchini investigates how the body organizes itself in relation to gravity, environment and material presence. These processes inform installations, performances and site-responsive works in which bodily perception becomes inseparable from spatial and relational dynamics.
